Rachel Murphy is deeply concerned about the experience that his five-pound Toto had last weekend. Rachel says that a hairdresser taped Toto r's jaw shut after the dog had been bitten. As a result, Toto r became bloody and upset.
Rachel told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Toto r was clearly injured and his paws were red. His toenails, cut too closely to the paws likely caused him to bite.
Wow! My Dog, an on-the-go pet salon, employed the groomer that was responsible for this.
Rachel rushed Toto to a veterinarian immediately for medical treatment. He joined a number of others in accusing Wow! My Dog for animal abuse. San Mateo has launched an investigation to determine if the company is guilty of animal cruelty.
Rachel described the wounds he noticed, saying: "I noted injuries around the joints, the neck, animal abuse dog fighting as well as in the genital. The cuts were so deep that they caused blood to flow."
Marianna De las Vegas, a customer of Wow! My Dog, posted a review on Yelp, detailing how his pets were returned to him injured or unwell. Another customer took a Snapchat of a dog appearing to be in pain. They claimed that a groomer inserted an ear napkin by force.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel shared: "Juliann told that I should tape my mouth shut as it was an acceptable and normal method. Juliann claimed this is better than a muzzle because he thinks a dog can get hurt by using one. He mentioned that he used the same method for his own dogs.
When contacted by Gate News, Wow! My Dog answered the phone but promptly handed it over to a woman who stated they were investigating the allegations. However, when questioned about Wow! My Dog, she quickly asserted that it was a separate entity before abruptly ending the call.
